GDP growth in 2018 was less than 3% – Mother Jones

The BEA has lowered its estimate of GDP growth in the fourth quarter to 2.2% today. Team Trump used a measure of growth in Q4 / Q4 to be able to say that GDP grew by more than 3% last year, but according to the latest figures, even the measure of T4 / T4 fell below the 3% mark. The snow….

But it rounds to 3%! MAGA!

¹ Using the more normal measure, where you simply compare the entire 2018 to the full 2017, GDP growth last year was 2.9%. Even after the reduced estimate for the fourth quarter, it still is – but barely.
