Dave Bautista realizes his dream after all – somehow. The wrestler turned actor openly campaigned for a role in the movie Gears of War, an effort that seemed doomed to failure. Despite this, he still has to wear COG's armor by announcing that he will be a playable character in Gears 5. You can pick him up for free between September 15th and October 28th.

Bautista announced the news on Twitter, saying that it will be playable on September 15th after the WWE Clash of Champions event. The teaser shows the actor in full armor and, according to the announcement, he has recorded more than 700 lines for the match.

Bautista has set his sights on the role of Marcus Fenix. The leader of the coalition, Rod Fergusson, said that it was appropriate that Bautista "would be great", but stressed that he had no role to play in casting decisions. On top of that, there is no guarantee that a Gears of War movie would feature Marcus Fenix.

The two games made under The Coalition, Gears of War 4 and the next Gears 5, take place years after the originals. Fenix still occupies an important place, but he is no longer the main protagonist. In Gears 5, this role will belong more to Kait Diaz. The game will be launched soon and the pre-loading is now available. To learn more about Gears 5, check out our interview with Rod Fergusson.
