Gears 5 technical test open to Xbox Game Pass subscribers, announced dates

The next Gears 5 tech test is available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers, not just for pre-order customers, the developer of the Coalition said, according to Eurogamer.

Beginning July 17, both parties will be able to download the technical test, which will still require Xbox Live Gold, confirmed Dana Sissons, director of communications for the Coalition, in a blog post. Members of the Xbox Game Pass will see it in their library, as any other game available in the program. The technical test will then be available from July 19 at 10 am Pacific time until July 21st, and then reactivated on July 26th at 10 am. PDT until July 29th.

Sissons added that, due to the nature of the technical test, players may have trouble queuing when they enter the game.

The technical test will allow players to play in climbing mode matches (introduced in Gears 4 and updated for Gears 5

), the new Arcade mode and the King of the Hill mode. The Coalition has also added a Bootcamp feature that allows new or rusty players to quickly become familiar with the game.

The technical test also includes a "Tour of Duty" feature, which allows players to win a banner and weapons appearances by completing challenges.
