Another member of the legendary rock band Kiss has tested positive for COVID-19.
Following an announcement Friday that Paul Stanley has tested positive for the virus – and that the band were canceling the evening’s show as a result – Gene Simmons has also tested positive, and the band will be postponing several upcoming shows as a result.
“Kiss will postpone his next four tour dates. While Paul Stanley recently tweeted that he had recovered from COVID, Gene Simmons has now tested positive and is showing mild symptoms,” Kiss tweeted Tuesday. “The band and team will stay home and self-isolate for the next 10 days and medics have indicated that the tour should be able to resume on September 9 at the FivePoint Amphitheater in Irvine, Calif.”
The Post has reached out to representatives for Simmons for comment.
Tickets purchased for their “End of the Road” farewell tour will be honored on the new dates once they are announced, the post added. The now postponed shows were scheduled to take place in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin. The show canceled after Stanley’s diagnosis was in Burgettstown, Pa.
In announcing the rockers’ groundbreaking cases, Kiss also revealed that the entire band and touring crew are fully vaccinated.
The members of Kiss “and their team functioned independently in a bubble to protect everyone as much as possible at every show and between shows,” the group wrote in a statement following Stanley’s diagnosis. “The tour also has a COVID security protocol manager on full-time staff who ensures everyone is closely following all CDC guidelines. “
Stanley shared his experience with the virus on Twitter.
“My COVID symptoms were MILD compared to a lot of others and let me tell you… It kicked my ass,” he wrote on Monday. “It’s over now.”
