General Motors recalled 3.4 million SUVs and trucks. Braking problems are responsible for 113 accidents up to now.
After an investigation by the NHTSA (National Road Safety Administration), General Motors recalls 3.4 million of its trucks and SUVs, due to an aging vehicle braking problem. The recall was issued on September 6th.
Last year, General Motors (GM) received 111 complaints from vehicle owners regarding braking problems that, at that time, had already resulted in nine accidents and two injuries. Nearly a year after the start of NHTSA's investigation, the problem (which concerns the assistance pump) was at the origin of 113 accidents and 13 wounded.
The vehicles included in the recall are:
- Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 and 3500 2014-2018
- 2015-2017 Cadillac Climbing
- 2015-2018 GMC Yukon, Chevy Suburban and Tahoe

Owners whose vehicles are still under warranty will receive a vehicle on loan until their truck or SUV is repaired!
What to do:
If you have one of the recalled vehicles, you can dial your VIN number on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website, print the recall and have your vehicle repaired at an official GMC, Chevrolet or Cadillac dealer.
