Genshin Impact 1.3 is released as part of a major new update that will bring, among other things, the Xiao banner to the popular free-to-play game.
This will involve the maintenance and uploading of a new hotfix across all platforms on February 3, 2021.
And the first phase of this rollout will be the official MiHoYo developer preloading and testing period.
Genshin Impact 1.3 pre-load has a scheduled release time on February 1, around 3 a.m. GMT.
From what has been shared so far, this option will be available on PC and mobile, with no mention of PlayStation 4 support.
And if you play Genshin Impact on PC, you will still be able to play the game while preparing for preloading, with a few limitations.
A post from MiHoYo explains, “PC travelers can still play the game while pre-installing game resources. Pre-installation will take up a certain amount of your network bandwidth, so it’s best to make sure you have a good network connection before starting the pre-installation.
“Travelers on mobile platforms will not be able to play the game while pre-installing game assets. Travelers are recommended to complete any areas or other challenges they wish to complete before starting the pre-installation process. -installation.
“Once the pre-installation process is complete, travelers can experience the content of the new version more quickly after the update maintenance period is over.”
And as you might expect, by preloading Genshin Impact’s new big update, you’ll reduce the amount of time the game spends updating resources the first time you enter version 1.3, even if you don’t. have not completely completed the pre-installation.
To prepare you to preload later today, here are the instructions shared by the development team:
PC:
Once the pre-install feature is available, you need to update Genshin Impact Launcher first. After updating the launcher, a “Game Pre-Install” button will appear to the left of the “Launch” button. Click “Game Pre-Install” to download the latest game resources.
After the pre-installation is complete, when the version update is released, reopen the launcher and click “Update” to install the game directly without having to download the game resources.
If the pre-installation is not complete, when you reopen the launcher and click “Update”, the game resources will continue to download from the point where the pre-installation progress has ended.
Mobile (iOS and Android)
Method 1: Travelers can start to pre-install update resources by going to Paimon menu> Settings> Other> Pre-Install Resource Package.
Method 2: Travelers can also start pre-installation of update resources by tapping the “Pre-Install Resource Package” icon in the lower left corner of the login menu.
According to MiHoYo, when the version update is released, travelers on iOS devices must enter the App Store and tap Update. Android users can open the game and follow the onscreen instructions (or open Google Play and tap Update).
Another big part of this week’s Genshin Impact update will be the release of the Xiao Banner event. This will be available after Genshin Impact 1.3 is released on February 3rd.
Xiao, of Genshin Impact, will be an anemo weapon arm user, joining the likes of Xiangling and Zhongli, and making him a somewhat rarer commodity.
Xiao also looks like a powerhouse, with no supporting character stats promoted by the MiHoYo team.
Instead, Genshin Impact’s next five-star character is going to deal burst damage at high speed, which sounds pretty exciting.
This week, the dev team revealed Xiao’s backstory along with his list of abilities, which you can find below:
Whirlpool Thrust: Performs up to six quick strikes on normal attack, charged attack Consumes stamina to perform upward push.
Lemniscatic Wind Cycling: Performs a high speed shot and inflicts Anemo damage to enemies in its path. Can be used in flight and starts with two charges.
Elemental Blast Bane of All Evil: Improves a number of stats, including Xiao’s jump ability, DMG rates, which are also converted to Anemo.
The effects end when Xiao leaves the field and also causes the character to lose health in this state.
