Genshin Impact’s next update will be rolling out soon, and it’s shaping up to be a big update. We’re getting our usual supply of new Genshin Impact character banners to wish for alongside a new region to explore. We know a bit more about Ayaka, Yoimiya, and Sayu as they are characters that have been teased, and we saw a lot of Inazuma in a recent livestream.
Mihoyo kicks off maintenance for the anime game at 6 a.m. UTC + 8 on July 21, which translates to 3 p.m. PST / 6 p.m. EST / 11 p.m. BST on July 20. The developer estimates that updating the game should take around five hours, but that could change the day. You never know what challenges will be thrown after all. You are compensated 300 Primogems for the disruption, which equals 60 Primogems for each hour the servers are down. Even if Mihoyo finishes his job early, you will still receive the lump sum.
Once Mihoyo completes the Genshin Impact update, the Heron’s Court wish event starts. This is your chance to get the five star character Kamisato Ayaka and the four star characters Chongyum and Yanfei. You also get a test event, so you can weigh in for yourself if you think Ayaka is worth wishing for. Both events run until August 10, so you have time to think about it.
If you want to learn more about Ayaka, you can also start the Grus Nivis Chapter Story Quest once update 2.0 has launched, which is all about the Frostflake Heron. Make sure you are above Adventure Rank 30 and have completed the Archon Quest Chapter 2: Act 1 – The Unchanging God and Eternal Euthymia beforehand, otherwise you won’t get very far .
