Everyone is wondering what Genshin Impact will be doing to celebrate its first anniversary, and more importantly, what rewards they will offer players.
While miHoYo has hosted a number of Genshin Impact anniversary events today, so far they appear to be somewhat disappointing. Nothing like free heroes or massive amounts of primogems or materials, it seems. Rather, here are the events, when they start and what they reward.
“An Unforgettable Journey” Web Event – September 28
It will be a kind of recap of your year in Genshin Impact that you will be rewarded for watching, with additional rewards for trading with friends.
Rewards: Primogems, Mora, Mystic Ore, Hero’s Wit (unknown quantities)
A Message in Time Web Event – September 29
Players will be invited to create their own birthday cards and then enter a raffle system for rewards.
Rewards: 90% of players will receive 100,000 Mora, 10% of players will receive Blessing of the Welkin Moon, the store item that gives you 90 primogems per day. Again, it’s hit and miss.
Art Anniversary Congratulation Prize Presentation – September 25
Just a social media sharing raffle with IRL prizes:
Rewards: 3x iPhone 13s, cash

Genshin Impact Anniversary Event “Record Your Birthday Memories” – September 28

Rewards: 1,000 winners receive 100 primogems.
Genshin Impact Anniversary Event “Let’s Solve Word Puzzles” – October 7
A kind of word puzzle game.
Rewards: 1,000 winners receive 100 primogems.
“Promise of a Social Encounter” Cosplay Submission Contest – September 22
A cosplay contest that will undoubtedly have strong competition
Rewards: Primogems, Apple AirPods, Razor DeathAdder V2, Fateful Gift Series Merchandise Set (Randomness)
All of these join the ongoing photo, video and fan art submission contests that have already started and reward similar prizes to the cosplay contest.
As you can see it is simultaneously a lot (probably too much) but the rewards are poor. The best thing here is Welkin’s Moon Blessing, and even that is a “gacha” prize where only 10% of players will get it. Everyone has to settle for mediocre rewards. I really thought miHoYo would give players a real hero or something big, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, and these events don’t look any better than others we’ve seen in the past, if they don’t. are not just worse.
We’ll see if anything else gets added to this list, but most of them kick off in about a week, so we’ll see if there are any surprises at that point.
