Genshin impact exploit

The players of the free-to-play miHoYo title, Genshin Impact, discovered an exploit that could be an unintended benefit to the new Hypostatic Symphony event through the design of boss encounters. [Thanks, GameRant!]

In the new event, players face variations of the game’s hypostatic enemy. One of those variations is the Violet Lightning Concerto, which counteracts electro damage with AOE electro damage and can be faced in both single player and co-op. At the start of this fight, player characters automatically have their health bars and Elemental Burst gauges filled to the max. This bonus also applies to other Hypostatic Symphony challenges. While this effect can help players against event monsters, there’s nothing stopping them from simply exiting the encounter through the pause menu.

With a quick and effortless method of recharging these resources, players should be able to take on other in-game tasks more efficiently. It’s not clear if the developers will do anything to mitigate these operating benefits outside of event-specific fights, but, even if they don’t, the Hypostatic Symphony event will still end. January 31, 2021.

The rewards for the current Hypostatic Symphony include a Hypostasis and Primogems business card.

Genshin impact is available for PlayStation 4, PC, Stadia and mobile devices. A version for the Nintendo Switch is currently in development. A recent update to the game added a new story quest alongside a new banner featuring Ganyu and Xiangling.
