Genshin impact Developer miHoYo has revealed some great features coming to the free-to-play PS4, PS5, PC and mobile game through its upcoming update, titled Update 1.2. For example, the developer revealed that a chat function is coming to the game with the update that will allow travelers with the unlocked friend system to chat with said friends using the “friends screen” or via the button shortcut to s. In the meantime, if your friends are offline, you can still send them a message that they will receive once they start the game and log in.

Staying on the topic of friends, the developer confirmed that players will be able to select a friend’s avatar and add a name for them in the note that will appear in your friends list and in chats. You will be the only person to see the name, and according to the developer, this was added to clear up the confusion caused by the nicknames.

Continuing with the new features, miHoYo has also confirmed that the update will add the ability to repeat a domain challenge from inside the domain, meaning there is no longer a need to leave and re-enter to repeat the challenge. .

An autoplay option for the dialogue is also added next to an option to skip animation on the BP screen. During this time, a Travel Log section will be added to the archive, which will house all text and audio dialogue from previously completed Archon quests and story quests. According to the developer, this has been added to allow players to replay and read dialogue from completed quests.

The update will also add the ability to leave Co-Op areas at any time without interrupting the battle for other players. During this time, during Co-Op sessions, the host will be able to disband the Co-Op team simply by returning to single player mode. Once the team is disbanded, a player’s own progress will be restored.

Finally, the update will bring improvements to the Ley Line Domain and Outcrop reward system, which will include adding drops directly to your inventory.

Genshin impact is available free of charge via PS4, PC and mobile devices. It’s playable on PS5 as well, with a proper and native next-gen version currently in the works alongside a Nintendo Switch version.
