Genshin impact Developer miHoYo today shared a discussion with the developers that covers a variety of topics, but most notably, it includes details about an update to the title’s Original Resin system. In short, starting with version 1.3, the amount of Original Resin players have access to is expected to increase dramatically with two specific changes. This is by no means a total solution, but it is something.
If you are not familiar, the Original Resin system is basically the primary time resource of Genshin impact. It refreshes over time, but there is a maximum amount that any player can hold both, and historically, most if not all of the endgame content such as leyline outcrops, estates, and various events have all consumed large quantities. As you can imagine, this has been a point of frustration for many. But with the new update, basically only Ley Line outcrops and areas will still cost the original resin.

“Any version 1.3 events that do not require outcrops or difficult Ley Line areas will not consume original resin,” reads the developer’s response in part. “The vast majority of large-scale events in future releases will also not consume original resin.”
“Our BP will be adjusted from version 1.3 to have additional fragile resin rewards,” the response continues. Brittle resin is, in essence, a means of restoring the original resin. “Sojourner’s Battle Pass and Gnostic Anthem will get Brittle Resin × 1 every 10 levels, starting at level 5, replacing the Mystic Upgrade ores that were originally there. This will not change. not the total amount of Mystic Upgrade Ore gained through BP. Those Mystic Upgrade Ore will instead be distributed among other levels. “
Genshin impact is currently available for free for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and mobile devices. The version 1.2 update “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon” was recently released and added an entirely new area, characters, events and more.
