George Clooney says meeting his wife made him a better person

George Clooney says his life has irreversibly changed for the better since he first met his wife Amal.

But despite a hugely successful film career spanning more than two decades before meeting the 42-year-old, Clooney, 59, admits that his meeting with Amal – with whom he is related to twins Ella and Alexander, three – has changed. his perspective.

He told CBS Sunday Morning: ‘There is no doubt that having Amal in my life has changed everything for me. It was the first time that everything she did and everything about her was infinitely more important than anything about me.

Referring to his kids, he added: ‘And then we had these two knuckleheads. It’s very rewarding and something that I wasn’t at all… I didn’t see it coming.

After gaining a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most eligible singles, Clooney’s decision to marry came as a surprise to those outside of her inner circle.

And he admits it took Amal several minutes before accepting a marriage proposal that even, he admits, took her by surprise.

He said: ‘We never talked about marriage when we were dating. I asked him out of the blue, it took him a while to say yes. I was on my knees for about 20 minutes, I finally said, “Look, I’m going to throw my hip.”

The couple were equally indifferent when it came to raising a family, until they found out that Amal was expecting twins.

He added, “We never talked about having kids and then one day we just said, ‘What do you think? We go to the doctor and you do the ultrasound. They’re like, “You’ve got a little boy!” and I was like “Baby boy, fantastic!” And they say, “And you’ve got another one over there.”

In the same interview, the Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker said he has been cutting his hair for over two decades.
