George Clooney sets the record straight on the rumors of the Royal Godfather

Could George Clooney sponsor Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, the newborn of his son, the Duchess of Sussex?

After all, the movie star is friends with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and attended the couple's royal wedding last year with his wife Amal. Clooney has also repeatedly defended the former actress of "Suits" against the critics of the press.

Well, Wednesday, Clooney has sadly escaped any speculation about possible impending royal rights.

"Everyone loves their rumors," Clooney told "Extra" at the premiere of his new Hulu miniseries "Catch-22".

Clooney, whose twin will be 2 next month, continued:

No, it is not true. You do not want me to be the godfather of anyone. I am hardly a parent at this point, it is so difficult. It's scary.

Clooney shares a birthday (he turned 58 on Monday) with the newest member of the British royal family.

He described it brilliantly as "irritating enough if you think about it".

"Because I already had to separate from Orson Welles and Sigmund Freud and that comes into play," added Clooney. "I'm going very quickly on the line."
