George Conway, husband of White House advisor Kellyanne Conway, believes that the evidence gathered by special advocate Robert Mueller is so "overwhelming" for President Trump that he should be immediately put in charge.
"What the Mueller report shows in a troubling way, with crystal clear clarity, is that today, there is a cancer in the presidency: President Donald J. Trump," wrote Conway in a scathing editorial published in the Washington Post Thursday night. "Congress now has the solemn constitutional duty to excise this cancer without delay."
Conway's metaphor was reminiscent of White House lawyer John Dean, who at the Watergate conference told President Richard Nixon that there was cancer in the presidency and that it was not a problem. he "became more and more murderous every day".
In a redacted version of Mueller's highly anticipated report released Thursday morning, the special council concluded that there was no evidence that Trump or his campaign had plotted with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election.
But Mueller also declined to impeach Trump for obstruction of justice, despite ample evidence showing that he had tried to stop the special council investigation. Citing the Justice Department's policy banning the indictment of an incumbent president, Mueller said it would be unfair to lay charges without giving Trump the opportunity to be elected at any time. ;a trial. He left the case to the Attorney General William Barr, who decided not to lay charges of obstruction.

Conway, a prominent Conservative lawyer who has become one of Trump's most vocal critics, says the impeachment test "should not be – and should not be – that the president has committed a criminal act."
"Mueller could not say, with any" confidence ", that the President of the United States was not a criminal," wrote Conway. "He said with amazement that" if we had confidence after a thorough investigation into the facts, the President clearly did not obstruct the justice, we would let him know, "Mueller said.
"This is particularly painful because the ultimate problem should not be – and it is not – if the president has committed a criminal act," continued Conway. "Americans should expect much more than simply that their president is not really a criminal. In fact, the Constitution requires it.
Earlier Thursday after the publication of the Mueller Report, Kellyanne Conway treated it as an exemption.
"Today we accept our apologies for anyone who feels able to offer them," Conway said. "It is time to move on."
She also used a colorful metaphor to describe the Mueller probe.
"It was a political proctology review," Conway said. "And we emerged with a clean checkup."

"The big lie you let fly for two years is over for people," she added. "The burden weighs more and more on those who will not let go of this big lie."
This probably includes her husband.
In an interview with Yahoo News' "Skullduggery" podcast last year, George Conway admitted to crying with joy and pride during the election night, citing how Kellyanne Conway helped Trump win against Hillary Clinton. .

"Look, my wife did an amazing thing," he said. "She basically made this guy elected."
In the same interview, Conway also explained why he had refused a senior position at the Justice Department as head of the civilian division – a position that would have charged him with defending the Trump administration in prosecution across the country.
Conway said that, on the verge of accepting the position, he had doubts about the relationship between the president and the Justice Department, among other developments within the administration.
"I fill out the financial forms and it's like … I'm watching what's going on, and it's as if the administration looked like a mocking show in a dumpster fire," Conway said. "And I'm like," I do not want to do that. ""
