HBO Game of thrones is approaching the end of his career, there are only three episodes left. However, the network does not give up on Westros yet – he has a few other programs in development and his blog, George R.R. Martin, has presented a brief update.
In 2017, Martin revealed that there were five spin-offs (he says he prefers to call them successors rather than spinoffs) in HBO's works. In his latest blog post, Martin notes that out of these five, "three of them are still moving along nicely." But it seems that HBO might not stick to this project or, at the very least, cover its bets. Martin says that two of the other projects are still in development and although they "remain at the script stage", they "are getting closer", presumably beyond words on a page. We learned last month that one of his successor programs, series writer and co-executive producer Bryan Cogman, is missing.
Martin will not say what he will be, or when they will take place, but he suggests that "some of you should perhaps take a copy of Fire and blood "(a story of the "Targaryen in Westros") and invent your own theories. "
