Georgia's baseball team lost 3-1 to Ole Miss on Saturday in the first of its two semifinals in the SEC tournament, dismissing the Hoover Bulldogs.
However, at age 44-15, Georgia was experiencing the goal as the week approached. While the Bulldogs were comfortable participating in the tournament when a national seed was already blocked, an extra win or two would not hurt Georgia.
The Bulldogs fought 8 times without success from Texas A & M, on Tuesday, to win on a circuit of two games in the half-end of the game, at the end of the 9th inning. Georgia then eliminated Arkansas Razorbacks, seeded second in this year's SEC tournament.
Coach Scott Stricklin's team received a bye for Friday, but finally lost 3-1 on Saturday, waiting to know its fate in the playoffs after returning to Athens.
Now the Dawgs are safe on the ground, although there has never been any question of whether Georgia would succeed.
The full ranking of the 64-team NCAA tournament and the National Top 8 will be announced Monday at 12:00, but we now know that the Dawgs will host at least one regional team.
Do not worry, there is a good chance that the Dawgs will also end up hosting guests. We will not know until Monday.
