ATHENS – The No.2 Georgia Bulldogs may have to play without starting QB JT Daniels once again this season.
That’s according to ESPN’s Holly Rowe, who told reporters on Friday afternoon that Daniels could miss Georgia’s top-ten battle against No.8 Arkansas.
“(JT) is a playing time decision,” Rowe told Ryan Kerley of the Dawg Post and other reporters on Friday afternoon.
Earlier this week, Georgia coach Kirby Smart revealed Daniels was suffering from an injury.
“His oblique is fine, he has a little problem with the last one,” Smart told reporters. “It bothered him a bit last week, and it bothered him a bit this week. But he’s done a good job, he’s lively, looks at his whole gang, gets his reps and he does a good job, so we hope he can stay that way. “
Daniels was slowed down in the season opener against No.3 Clemson with an oblique injury. He missed the win against UAB. Stetson Bennett had an award-winning day against the Blazers, throwing five touchdowns on 10 of 12 shots.
A week later, Daniels returned to the starting lineup in Georgia’s resounding No.2 victory over South Carolina.
Meanwhile, Arkansas caoch Sam Pittman would not answer a question regarding the health of starting quarterback KJ Jefferson. The 6-3, 245-pound caller missed much of the No.8 Hogs’ victory over Texas A&M last Saturday.
Jefferson threw just 15 passes – completing just seven. He added eight points for 50 yards. Although he left during the game, Jefferson returned to close the victory at Arlington over the Aggies.
Georgia’s game with Arkansas kicks off at noon on ESPN. The game is the 8th top ten game of the Bulldogs’ 17 most recent games.
