SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) – Police from the Georgian coast indicates that a police officer died after being injured while he was answering a call.
The Savannah Police Department said in a press release Sunday that police were following a previous robbery call shortly after 8 pm Saturday. When they approached a vehicle that corresponds to the description that had been given to them, shots were fired.
Two officers and a suspect were injured and taken to the hospital. Police did not disclose their names
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a tweet that the suspect was also dead. Savannah police said the second officer was treated and released.
Savannah police said GBI was summoned to investigate the shootings.
