The agents did not know that Fuller was in the vehicle, according to the GBI. When they approached, Fuller got out of the car and "immediately started firing," hitting Ansari and Thomas.

Fuller then escaped on foot into the house of a neighboring house, authorities said. When the officers who spotted him found him, he came out of a hangar and pointed a handgun at the police, which prompted one of the officers to use his weapon, have said the authorities.

Fuller was hit and died later at a local hospital.
