Georgia’s secretary of state announced on Wednesday that election officials would do a manual recount of all ballots cast in the presidential race amid President Trump’s re-election campaign, questioning the accuracy of the results.

The race in Georgia has not been called for any of the candidates, but President-elect Joe Biden has 14,111 votes ahead in the state.

“It will help build confidence. It will be an audit, a recount and a new web all at once, ”Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger told reporters. “It will be a heavy load.”

He said all 159 counties in Georgia will be subject to a manual recount and he expects it to be completed by November 20 – the deadline for the state to certify the results of the elections.

At stake are the 16 votes of the state electoral college.

Raffensperger said his office would investigate all allegations of electoral irregularities. “Every legal vote will count,” he said.

Raffensperger, a Republican, has been criticized by the Trump campaign, which called for a manual recount on Tuesday, and GOP senses David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler who called on him to step down for his handling of their races that will head to the second round elections in January.

“The management of the elections in Georgia has become an embarrassment for our state,” the two men said in a statement on Monday. “We believe that when there are failures, they should be denounced, even when it is in your own party.”

Rassensperger said “It will not arrive.”

“Georgian voters have hired me, and voters will fire me,” he said in a statement.

Perdue and Loeffler face a run-off on January 5 as no candidate was able to secure at least 50% of the vote.

Perdue is set to face Democrat Jon Ossoff and Loeffler is set to face Democrat Raphael Warnock in races that will likely determine control of the Senate.

Biden crossed the threshold of 270 electoral votes on Saturday after the Pennsylvania results came out in favor of the former vice president, but Trump did not concede.
