FARNBOROUGH – According to the media, Airbus is about to receive a mega order from the airline AirAsia. The Malaysian airline wants to order up to 100 A321neo planes, the Bloomberg agency said this weekend, citing informed people.

In addition, the company could increase its order of A330neo from 34 machines to more than 100 models. Airbus badists Asians at a price of 23 billion dollars (19.7 billion euros).

For the moment, the case is not yet complete, but at the Farnborough Air Show near London, it should at least be announced in parts, it was said. The head of the airline Tony Fernandes met the boss of Airbus Tom Enders in Toulouse in July to negotiate the details of the deal.

Airbus will increase the range of the A330-900 to 13,330 kilometers and its take-off weight to 251 tons for AirAsia. This would allow a reissue of AirAsia X flights from Kuala Lumpur to London Heathrow. AirAsia X is also considered a potential user of the long distance version A321neo A321LR
