Scout 24: The Internet stock market buys Finanzcheck and wants to boost its car loan business

The online portal operator Scout24 takes over the financial portal Finanzcheck.de. Above all, Scout24 expects this to stimulate the provision of car loans via its platform.

The Internet advertising market Scout24 takes over the Finanzcheck.de consumer loan broker. The Munich operator of the autoscout24.de portals and the real estate scout24.de have paid for the six-year comparison portal 285 million euros, he said Tuesday evening. The money goes to the founders of Finanzcheck and several beginning investors.

The Scout24 stock chart promises above all a boost for the brokerage of auto loans via its platform autoscout24.de. There, the company already collaborates with Finanzcheck.de, but not significantly. 40 percent of all used cars would be financed at least in part by credit, explained Scout24. CEO Greg Ellis spoke of a "perfect match".

With a turnover of 35 million euros last year, Finanzcheck.de considers itself one of the three largest consumer credit portals in Germany. Customers can choose from offers from about twenty banks. The company is still in the red. Check24 and Smava are considered the biggest rivals. Scout24 is committed to making more customers look for comparison portals before subscribing to consumer credit.

Scout24 plans to finance the largest takeover in Germany since it went public just over three years ago. A capital increase is not planned, said a spokesman.
