Ralf Wohlleben is a free man. The 43-year-old NSU sympathizer was released from prison. This was announced by a spokesman for the Munich Higher Regional Court. There, he was sentenced to ten years in prison for helping the murder last Wednesday.
The court quashed the arrest warrant on Tuesday, according to a court press release. There was no danger that Wohlleben escaped the escape. The accused was already detained for six years and eight months. After NSU's decision last Wednesday, a maximum of three years and four months to enforce the judgment should become final.
"The maintenance of the remaining sentence is therefore no longer so high to justify increased incitement to escape," the statement said. With the decision, the Senate therefore follows the badessment of the federal Attorney General, who no longer considers it necessary to continue with pre-trial detention.
