Violent act in Lübeck: the bus driver reports horror minutes in the bus

The bus driver and nine other people were injured in the violence in the district of Kücknitz, three of them seriously. A victim of this, according to Hingst by knife wounds. In the other two, the cause of the injuries is still unknown.

The facts of the case and their exact sequence are still unclear on Friday night. According to the prosecutor, the alleged perpetrator is a 34-year-old German citizen. According to Hingst, he was born in Iran, but was a German citizen for many years. His residence is Lübeck. The alleged perpetrator had an accelerator backpack, which was lit in the bus. The bus driver, Peter S, probably prevented the worst, he told reporters the terrible seconds. On the bus, ladies would have suddenly shouted: "Fire, fire, it's a psychopath". He looked in the rearview mirror and discovered the flames. He drove straight to the right and saw that all pbadengers could get off the bus.

When the bus of the bus started to burn, he had resorted to the extinguisher, which he always had on board. The investigators do not exclude anything for the moment

The riddles dominate Friday night again on the motivations of the alleged perpetrator. "Nothing can be ruled out, not even a terrorist history," says Hingst. But there is no such advice. Police hope more information on the hearing of the man scheduled for the evening.

The mayor of Grote and Lübeck, Jan Lindenau (SPD), has himself obtained a picture of the situation at the scene of the crime. Lindenau then spoke of "a horrible act". Grote was already in the area anyway. He originally wanted to attend the opening of the Woche Travemünder. It would be after the violence in the bus but "really moved", he said.

Now, investigators are investigating the antecedents of the alleged perpetrator. "All of this is currently underway, with the police and the intelligence service," says Grote. Authorities looked at whether there were suspicious human links. "But according to the current state, we do not know at least now." Even after the prosecutor, there is no evidence of radicalization of the alleged perpetrator.

After towing in the early evening, a white extinguishing agent remains on Travemünder Allee. The bus had stopped there during the attack.
