- An investigation report should clarify why the MH370 flight disappeared over the Indian Ocean more than four years ago.
- But the relatives of the 239 inmates of the machine were disappointed – investigators can hardly provide answers. still plenty of room for speculation. From the fuel shortage to a deliberate collision, everything seems possible
- The only really relevant conclusion: the course of the machine should have been modified by hand, not by the autopilot.
Meanwhile, the ominous disappearance of the MH370 flight as perhaps the biggest puzzle in the history of aviation. Even after nearly four and a half years, the Malaysian Airlines plane and the 239 pbadengers are missing their tracks – despite all their speculations and educational efforts. Therefore, the families of missing persons put little hope in the reported investigation report, which the Malaysian government has now presented. But at least they had promised themselves why the Boeing 777 was overturned on the way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing before disappearing. But their hope was also disappointed by this detail.
The report leaves many questions unanswered. The crucial sentence is nearing the end, on page 443. She says: "The team is unable to determine the reason for the disappearance of MH370." This can be speculated further. Theories range from a fuel shortage accident to a hijacking or shooting to a crash induced by a pilot who would kill the pilot and 238 other people.
Among the few reasonably sure conclusions in the report is that the course of the MH370 flight was changed by hand rather than the autopilot. Whether the pilot himself, the co-pilot or someone else, said the head of the investigation Kok Soo Chon not. However, he said, "We can not exclude that a third party interfered illegally."
"I excluded nothing"
Because of debris stranded on several coasts, experts suspect that the machine "probably" has broken. Whether in the air or in the impact on the water, they remained open. Not an unimportant question: a water landing would mean that the pilot would have reduced the machine after several hours of flight.
However, Chief Investigator Kok does not think much about the theory of an accident deliberately provoked for other reasons. On the one hand, because his people, despite extensive research, found no evidence of problems with the pilot, whether family or financial or otherwise, and also, because the two psychiatrists of the Team on the latest film and sound recordings of it could determine. But here too, Kok added as a precautionary measure: "I did not exclude anything at all."
As a result, the affected families were released from their previous presentation by the investigators. At least they were granted that the file will not be closed with the report. Unlike the previous announcements, the investigators relinquished the title "Final Report". About the 450-page report is now only "security investigation report."
