Bamburg (dpa / lno) – After four years of construction, the new Langenfelder bridge of the A7 in Hamburg-Stellingen is officially inaugurated today. The structure of about 400 meters long leads the highway on 19 railroad tracks and two roads near the Volkspark. Federal Minister of Transport Andreas Scheuer (CSU), Hamburg Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) and Transport Senator Frank Horch (non-party member) are expected at the opening ceremony. The bridge had to be completely rebuilt due to the widening of the A7 on eight lanes and traffic.

As the 900-meter Stellingen acoustic protection tunnel is a few hundred meters to the north, the Langenfelder Brücke remains under construction. Motorists will first continue to use narrow lanes. From Friday evening, traffic will be changed gradually. Next Wednesday, there will be traffic restrictions at night.
