One of the skills of the ASAP group in Gaimersheim, near Ingolstadt, is to develop complex embedded systems. This concerns the combination of all the electrical and electronic components of a vehicle. Due to the trend towards electronic mobility and autonomous driving, embedded electrical systems are becoming more and more complex. ZF invests in e-mobility and autonomous driving

The investment is part of ZF's strategy to significantly strengthen the areas of electromobility and autonomous driving in the group, as well as to develop software and validation themes. ZF will invest approximately twelve billion euros in these two areas only over the next five years, as recently announced Wolf-Henning Scheider, president of ZF, at the IAA Commercial Vehicles exhibition. The partners have agreed not to disclose the value of ZF's 35% stake in ASAP.
