Mountain View –
Google has fired 48 people in the last two years for allegations of badual harbadment. These include 13 members of management, as CEO Sundar Pichai explained in a circular letter to employees.
The official responded to an article in the New York Times by sending an e-mail on the Internet by various US media.
The article makes giants online very frowned upon: so the newspaper, citing two insiders, said Google when leaving Andy Rubin – the head behind the Android operating system for smartphones – in 2014, a dark chapter hidden. Rubin was allegedly charged by an employee with whom he allegedly had an extramarital relationship, and forced him to have oral bad in a hotel room in 2013.
Google learned the charges, Rubin but still praised his departure and gave him a 90 million dollar bidding package, the report said. A spokesman for Rubin denied the charges and claimed that he had left the company on his own.
According to the New York Times, over the past decade, Google has also held protective hands over two other leaders accused of badual harbadment. The newspaper relies on corporate and court documents and discusses with more than three dozen employees. Google said it was determined to respond to the allegations of misconduct. Pichai wrote in his email that none of the 48 layoffs had been interrupted.
The scandal coincided with the latest quarterly figures. These show that business is good. For example, Google's parent company, Alphabet, was able to increase profits in the summer quarter, thanks to high advertising revenues and a reduction in taxes.
In the three months to the end of September, the surplus rose from $ 6.7 billion to $ 9.2 billion (8.1 billion euros) year on year, as reported Thursday Google after the closure of the US market. Revenues increased 21% to $ 33.7 billion. On Wall Street, however, we were expecting more – the stock fell by more than three percent after the stock market.
Alphabet's quarterly results once again benefited from the surge in internet advertising activity, which recorded revenue growth of about 20%, contributing for nearly 29 billion USD to most of the revenue. In the other divisions, sales increased 43% to $ 4.8 billion.
"Our company retains a solid form around the world," said CFO Ruth Porat. In addition, the group played the US government tax reduction. The effective tax rate fell from 16% to 9%.
Again and again in Silicon Valley dominated by men with allegations of badism. The low proportion and discrimination of women in working life is a recurring theme. More recently, transport officer Uber announced that he would pay several hundred employees for badual harbadment. (AP)
