Bottrop –
Large police operation in the popular amusement park: the Bottrop Movie Park was evicted Friday night as a result of a bomb threat. This was reported by the police. 11,000 visitors had to leave the park.
The first notice reads as follows:
There was a phone call for a threat. This note has been received in MoviePark. The police were informed at 17:16. There is currently no indication of an acute risk. As a precaution, the park was closed to visitors. All visitors left the MoviePark. The investigation into the background of the call continues.
Private conflicts
The investigation so far has shown that there was no real danger and that the content of the alert call was fictitious. The call and warning could be invoked to spoil the evening due to private disputes.
Movie Park is well attended because of the Halloween horror festival
A police spokeswoman said the appellant had not threatened. Only around 9 pm, no more guests were on the site, the police announced the reason for the evacuation.
Visitors reacted calmly and with discipline to calls from emergency services and announcements from loudspeakers who were demanding to leave the park, it was said.
Due to the threat situation, fire and rescue services were also used in front of the Movie Park.
In October, the theme park hosts the "Halloween Horror Festival" every weekend, including Fridays. Many visitors travel far. The horror show is according to its own data the biggest Halloween event in Europe.
