The enigmatic bullet wound of a man triggered a large-scale police deployment and numerous murder investigations in downtown Hamburg. The 42-year-old had been shot in the belly and crashed Friday night in the middle of the Wandsbeker Chaussee, in Eilbek District, in an SUV.
Police said the victim was shot dead, according to two companions. A search was launched, while at least three dozen patrol cars were used. There was no other information on the unfolding and the background of the crime.
The two companions of the wounded had stopped at 4:40 pm at the crossroads near an ambulance to ask help from the rescuers.
