Telekom has started to set up a public charging network for electric cars.
The group will use its own infrastructure, such as gray power splitters. "When we set up our national charging network, we combine fast charging points with normal charging points," said Bruno Jacobfeuerborn, General Manager of DFMG Deutsche Funkturm GmbH, a subsidiary of Telekom, on Monday. In addition to the energy distribution points as charging station to be installed in the next three months, about 100 fast charging stations to the network by 2021 then 500 total. In just ten minutes, a vehicle could "fill up" up to 100 km. A well developed charging infrastructure is considered the key to the success of electromobility.
