The Rivian electric startup has been building an electric vehicle for nearly a decade, according to a report from The Verge, announced today in the form of the R1T pickup truck at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2020. The R1T must be offered with three different batteries. With 180 kWh, the vehicle will travel 640 km, a version of 135 kWh is expected to reach 480 km distance, according to the manufacturer. The smallest variant with a battery of 105 kWh is to give the pickup a range of about 370 km. Rivian did not agree with the test cycle on which the range information is based.

All three versions are limited to a maximum speed of 200 km / h. The central version with a battery of 135 kWh is the fastest, according to Rivian, and must create it with a total power of 562 kW (750 hp) in three seconds at 100 km / h. With the largest battery and a power of 522 kW (about 700 hp), the heavily motorized head version can only accelerate in 3.2 seconds to 100 km / h due to its higher weight. The cheapest version with the smallest battery should be available in 4.9 seconds, from 0 to 100 km / h, and count about 400 hp. In all configurations, the payload of the R1T is about 800 kg. The load of the trailer is estimated at around 5 tons.

Inside the van, a 15.6-inch touch screen dominates the dashboard. There is also a 12.3 inch screen in the form of a group of instruments behind the wheel. A third 6.8-inch touch screen is located on the center console and provides an infotainment system to the rear pbadengers.

Pre-orders for collections will begin this week, requiring a deposit of $ 1,000, according to Rivian.
