Airbus is positioning itself in the battle with its competitor Boeing for the segment "Market Middle": In addition to the A321 Neo versions, the largest aerospace manufacturer in Europe, according to marketing director Crawford Hamilton, is currently considering a deal. use a modified version of the A330 Neo Short and medium distances.

Technically, the takeoff weight of the A330 Neo, which was delivered for the first time Monday, is expected to be reduced from the current 242 tonnes to about 200 tonnes, said Bloomberg Hamilton. This would be possible if the thrust of Rolls-Royce engines increased from 72,000 to 68,000 pounds, so less fuel would be needed.

Airbus would launch two jet planes against a possible Boeing 797 in the Middle of the Market segment. With the A321 Neo version, lower pbadenger capacity could be covered – at the higher end, the modified A330 would dock Neo.

Boeing is working on 797

Airbus projects in the same segment of the market are booming for Boeing's ideas. The Seattle competitor had delayed the introduction of a 797 predicted by many experts early in the summer only. A decision would take the group until next year, said CEO Dennis Muilenburg just before the start of the Farnborough Air Show.

Middle of the market

Until now, Airbus and Boeing have mainly focused on two segments of civil aviation: short, medium and long-haul flights. Soon, a third division could be added – that of aircraft with a capacity of between 230 and 260 seats, long-haul flights – what is called the "Mid-Market" (MoM). The last Boeing triumphed in this area between 1983 and 2004 with the 757. The projects of Randy Tinseth, director of concrete marketing for 797, in spring 2017. With United Airlines, a first customer has already expressed interest in such an aircraft .

The entry into the market of a 797 2025 is therefore not threatened. Previously, Airbus had emphasized that they were expecting Boeing's ideas in all their projects for the mid-market segment.

Rumors about the A350 Neo

In addition, according to other media reports in Madrid and Toulouse, Airbus is looking for designers and engineers who must plan for the future, among others, for the A320 family. Therefore, it is badumed that in the clbad of narrow bodies, a plane completely renewed to the outside could occur.

And another model from the industrial group has apparently donated a renewal: in the same job offer, it is also called the A350 family. According to rumors, his latest aircraft could turn Airbus into Neo with new generation engines.
