The truck driver slept soundly in his bunk – and did not notice that in the meantime, thieves had cleaned the car. Their prey: very, very chocolatey.

More than 13,000 chocolate bars were stolen by thieves in a semi-trailer at a roadside stop in Hesse on Highway 67. The strangers were so silent that the truck-bed driver did not did not notice, police reported.

The driver had parked his trailer Sunday night in the rest area and was sleeping around 11 pm in the berth of his vehicle. When he got up at seven o'clock Monday morning, he noticed that the caravan was gone.

The thieves stole four more pallets of a ton of chocolate from a known brand in the trailer and transported them. Police hope to have witnesses during his investigation.
