Separated fathers or mothers have to pay more for their children. This results from the new Düsseldorfer table, to which the family courts guide with the fixing of alimony. As of January 1, 2019, this will be changed.

The minimum maintenance of minor children is then between 1 January 2019 and the age of 6 (first age) 354 instead of 348 euros, for the period from the 7th to the end of the twelfth year (second age) 406 instead of 399 euros and for the period from the age of 13 to the age of majority (senior age) 476 instead of 467 € per month to date.

This increase in the minimum maintenance level simultaneously leads to a change in the demand rates of the second to the tenth income group in the Düsseldorfer table. As in the past, they are increased by 5% in the second to fifth income groups and by 8% of the subsistence minimum in the sixth to tenth income groups.
