Graciano "Rocky" Rocchigiani: his daughter talks about his problems with alcohol

Just two months after the accidental death of former world boxing champion Graciano "Rocky" Rocchigiani, his daughter has pronounced it. She considers alcohol as the cause of the disaster, Janina Michalke said.

"He always knew that it was not good and did," said the 33-year-old woman about her father's drinking habits. "In the end, it was like he was drunk and the accident occurred."

Alcohol was often a problem, said Michalke. When Rocchigian was overweight about four years ago, she took care of him intensively for a week. In the years leading up to his death, however, he had improved a lot. "It was actually on a stable path of life, I thought it was installed."

The former 54-year-old was on the road on 1 October in the village of Belpbado in Sicily and was hit by a car. (Read an obituary on Rocchigiani here).
