Schweini is in a year!
Bastian Schweinsteiger (34) extended his contract with the MLS Chicago Fire football club for an additional year until 2019.
He posted a video on social media. The former DFB captain says: "Dear Fire fans, I'm happy to tell you that our journey continues, and it's good to see you all in Chicago."
On the club's home page, he added, "Let's get a trophy, I believe in this club and we can become champions."
The world champion moved from Manchester to the United States in March 2017 with a free transfer. Last season, he scored four goals in 31 league games and had five more. The play-offs had missed the fire but clearly.
