NOTAfter more than four decades and eight films, the American actor Sylvester Stallone wants to finally end the boxing gloves of Rocky. In a video released Wednesday on Instagram, the 72-year-old announced that he would no longer want to play the legendary movie character. His appearance as Rocky in the recently released film "Creed II" was his last.

The saga of the outsider boxer Rocky Balboa had begun in 1976 with a first film, the scenario that Stallone had written himself. "Rocky" was a surprise hit and won three Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director. Next are five other Rocky films, as well as "Creed" and "Creed II", in which Stallone plays Rocky, coaching a young boxer.

On Instagram, the actor wrote that saying goodbye to Rocky had broken his heart, but that the time had come to close this chapter. "It was a special honor to create and play this important character."
