For the approximately 90000 Audi employees, a long period of uncertainty would end with the appointment of Bram Schot. During the exhaust gas scandal, half of the board of directors was replaced and the former chairman and CEO of Audi, Rupert Stadler, was arrested. Schot has been acting chief since June 19th.

Regarding the meeting of the Supervisory Board on Thursday afternoon, the group circles indicated that some formalities had not yet been resolved. There was no more details as usual after these meetings. However, it was said that the decision could be made before Christmas.

Schot is still considered the most promising candidate for the Stadler estate. He has also developed the sympathy of a large part of the workforce over the last few months. Even before the meeting of the Audi Supervisory Board in September, observers had expected Schot to be installed as the new CEO of Audi.

However, Markus Duesmann was still considered a promising candidate for the post of Chief in Ingolstadt at that time. VW had courted the BMW buying chart in July. Audi employees are now urgently awaiting security. The road ahead of the automaker is difficult, the scandal of the exhaust gases leaves obvious traces.
