"Charles was beaten for third place with Verstappen because he was adopting a different strategy with hard tires off," says Binotto, explaining: "That's why it was important for him to do not waste time at this stage of the race, so we just waited for the right moment and I'm not sure we should have done it sooner. "
The phase of the safety car that followed still ruined Leclerc's strategy. Monegbade finished fifth and Vettel was fourth behind Verstappen. Already at the start of the race, Ferrari had long been waiting for a replacement – in the reverse order. Leclerc is trapped behind Vettel, who had ruined the tires initially.
