In Group C of the Women's World Cup, participants are determined for the round of 16. Brazil beat Italy and Australia defeated Jamaica.

Brazil – Italy
The Brazilians won the third day of the Women's World Cup in Valenciennes with a score of 1: 0 (0: 0) against Italy. Four-time world footballer Marta Vieira da Silva scored a penalty in the 74th minute, in addition to the goal of the win, but also her 17th overall goal at the World Championships. So exceeded the record holder of 33 years Miroslav Klosewho scored 16 goals.
Australia – Jamaica
In the other Group C match, Australia had little difficulty in 4-1 (2-0) against Jamaica, newcomer to the World Cup. The Reggae Girlz could however congratulate themselves on their first World Cup goal against Havana Solaun (49th). The Matildas' four goals scored Samantha Kerr (11th / 42nd / 69th / 83rd minute). Italy badured the group's win that thanks to the better goal difference ahead of Australia and Brazil. All three teams finished the preliminary round with six counters.
