A 19-year-old man apparently badaulted two men with a knife at a kebab snack in Oberhausen on Sunday night, seriously injuring a 27-year-old man.
Following the attack of the suspect from Afghanistan, the victim was temporarily in danger of death, as investigators announced Monday. Initially, a police spokesperson did not provide information on the motive of the alleged perpetrator arrested near the crime scene.
Callers had informed police in Oberhausen around 9:40 pm that a man was running down the street with a knife in his hand. Shortly before, the 27-year-old had been seriously injured in the Doner kebab, a second victim aged 43 was slightly injured.
Oberhausen police were able to arrest the 19-year-old Afghan man near the crime scene. The health of the 27-year-old victim described the investigators in the aftermath of the act as being stable. The police in Essen set up a homicide squad on Monday night. To the investigators of the knife attack, the investigators launched an urgent appeal to contact the police.
