Gerard Depardieu, 69, was questioned by French police about alleged rape by a young actress.
According to the police, the French movie star was submitted to the investigation on Tuesday. Depardieu therefore voluntarily heard that he could have ended the conversation at any time. He is not in custody.
According to the French press, a 20-year-old actress and dancer Depardieu accuses her of having badually badaulted her twice in August. The actor was reportedly overthrown in his Paris apartment in the 6th arrondissement.
French justice had opened a preliminary investigation following a complaint.
Depardieu's lawyer had dismissed the charges shortly after their publication. His client denies "all attacks, all rapes," said Hervé Temime.
