Another German was arrested in Turkey. The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the regular reports of the Turkish media about the arrest. Among others, the newspaper "Cumhuriyet" reported it.

Turkish authorities accuse the man of terrorist propaganda. He reportedly advertised in online networks, according to "Cumhuriyet" on Facebook, for the PKK, Kurdish workers' party banned. The group is clbadified as a terrorist organization in Turkey, in the EU and in the United States

The PKK

The Kurdistan Workers Party is banned in Turkey and is on the terrorist list, as well as in the EU and the United States. From 1984, the PKK fought against a Kurdish state or an autonomous region of south-eastern Turkey by force of arms. Meanwhile, the PKK claims to be away from the maximum requirement of an independent state. In March 2013, the PKK declared a cease-fire that has virtually ended since the attacks on PKK positions in Iraq in 2015 and the mbadive crackdown on Kurds in the south-east of the country

Dennis E. is detained

According to the studio of the ARD in Istanbul Dennis E. is detained at the request of the Turkish Public Prosecutor's Office and has already been interrogated by the anti-terrorist police. He was arrested at his home in the southern province of Hatay. German and Turkish authorities would be involved in the case.

In the past two years, German citizens have been arrested several times in Turkey. The biggest stir was the arrest of "Welt" correspondent Deniz Yücel, journalist Mesale Tolu and human rights defender Peter Steudtner. All three are now back at liberty, however, Tolu can not leave Turkey.
