The Bundesliga basketball club in Bamberg has separated from the general manager Rolf Beyer. As a reason, the club in a brief message called "financial irregularities". Only additional financial support from main sponsor Brose and chairman of the supervisory board, Michael Stoschek, saved Bamberger Basketball GmbH from bankruptcy, it was said.

The club did not specify the irregularities and the extent of the damage. Beyer would still have left the club at the end of the year, at his own request. A successor is already set, early 2019 starts Arne Dirks in Bamberg, who was active for the last time for the German Volleyball Federation.

What looks like internal conflicts now calls the Bundesliga basketball (BBL) in the plan. The league director, Stefan Holz, is irritated by the financial difficulties. "I was completely surprised and I fell clouds last night," said Holz. He described as "incomprehensible" the fact that Bamberg reports to the public in public without risk of bankruptcy.

Also, the chairman of the licensing committee, Thomas Braumann, has seen the problems with Bambergern, which could celebrate since 2010 seven of the nine German leagues, not coming. "The documents were filed in April and approved," said Braumann. "They got their license unconditionally and recently announced in October that everything was fine."

Holz pointed out that the committee of experts and the licensing committee must first receive an opinion from the badociation, but he did not want to talk about the possible consequences. The bylaws provide for severe penalties for BBL's fines, deduction of points and license withdrawal.
