A manufacturer recalls a ham because of a suspicion of salmonella
Campofrio Food Group Deutschland GmbH of Ratingen, North Rhine-Westphalia, has issued a recall for the product "Aoste Kernschinken 80g". Ham may be contaminated with Salmonella. These bacteria can cause diarrhea and other medical conditions.
Potential Salmonella Contamination
Campofrio Food Group Germany GmbH of Ratingen (North Rhine-Westphalia) recovers the product "Ham Aosta 80g" with the expiry dates 13.12.2018, 20.12.2018, 26.12.2018 and 03.01.2019. According to the company, there is a risk of salmonella contamination in some lots of pork from a supplier. "The potentially affected raw material has been transformed into the product" Aoste Kernschinken 80g ", the manufacturer writes.
Consumption of the products concerned is not recommended
"Based on the badyzes of the products of the supplier and our manufacturer, we are currently not aware of any actual contamination of the lots of pigs designated by Salmonella, nor of the known final product," he says.

Bacteria can cause gastrointestinal diseases
Salmonella can be a cause of severe stomach / intestinal illness (salmonellosis).
The disease occurs several hours to several days after the infection and is manifested primarily by the sudden onset of diarrhea, abdominal pain, discomfort, cold and headache.
In some cases, vomiting and a mild fever are added.
Symptoms usually disappear after a few hours or days.
