R ittersdorf (dpa / th) – A fire broke out in a field and in a nearby forest in the Weimar countryside. The field in Rittersdorf was completely burned over about five hectares, the police said. The fire of about four acres in the forest has kept the fire services pending longer. The fight against the flames would have been difficult. In the evening, the police said that the extinction of the forest fire should take several hours.
The damage to the forest is estimated at 30 000 €. The field could be much higher, the police said. At first, firefighters battles Bad Berka, Blankenhain, Kranichfeld and Saalfeld were in action to fight the fire from several sides. The professional firefighters from Erfurt had also been called. It was planned to hit flares to prevent the spread of fire. The residents of Kranichfeld, Rittersdorf and Dienstedt were asked to keep the windows and doors closed because of the smoke. The technical rescue organization also participated in the operation.
