Stuttgart (Dpa) – The car manufacturer Daimler wants to build two additional battery factories at the sites of Sindelfingen and Untertürkheim. As the company announced Wednesday in Stuttgart, construction work is expected to begin in the next decade. In addition to battery production planned in the Brühl plant, the Untertürkheim plant must also receive a factory in the Hedelfingen plant; this would quadruple the capacity initially planned on the site. Including the two factories announced now, Daimler's battery production would increase to eight plants worldwide.
