Frankfurt / Eschborn.

Deutsche Börse should have made better deals in the third quarter of 2018 than a year earlier. Analysts believe that the Frankfurt-based market operator, who will present its figures today, continued to perform well, mainly due to strong markets. In terms of sales, experts expect an average increase of 13% to 650 million euros. The surplus, which stood at 204.3 million euros in the same quarter of the previous year, is also expected to increase significantly.

According to HSBC expert Johannes Thormann, Deutsche Börse is very well positioned to benefit from rising interest rates, growing market uncertainty and increased commercial activity.

Since the beginning of the year, Theodor Weimer, interim CEO, had aimed to increase his income by at least 5% per year. Profits should increase by about 10 to 15%. Special effects are excluded in each case.

The costs of the ongoing restructuring of the group had reduced the profits of the Dax group in the second quarter. The Council announced that it would cut 350 full-time positions, including 50 executive positions. At the same time, the company wants to invest in modern technologies such as blockchain, cloud and artificial intelligence and create new jobs in this region.
