Opel is advised according to a media report in the suspicion of having handled the exhaust emissions in diesel engines. The Kraftfahrtbundesamt (KBA) has, according to a report from "Bild am Sonntag" in recent months, reliable evidence that the global automaker with 60,000 cars on the exhaust gas while driving.
In Germany about 10,000 cars are affected in which the limit values for nitrogen oxides have been exceeded by more than ten times.
A spokesman for the Federal Ministry of Transport confirmed "an official hearing against Opel for three Euro 6 models". Opel was not available to comment. According to the report, Opel should have two weeks to explain to the KBA.

Opel has not been the target of judicial investigations and had to remember the vehicles. The Frankfurt public prosecutor had closed the preliminary investigations more than a year ago.
VW admitted in September 2015 to have stalled exhaust gas tests on more than ten million diesel cars. But the company had to pay a fine of one billion euros only in Germany. In the United States, VW reportedly paid about four billion euros as part of a settlement with a view to obtaining the attitude of criminal and civil proceedings.
